cleveland } { what if I wanted to fight?

[Peter knows that, when they spoke on the phone, Buffy said that Sylar was fine and that they don't need another pair of hands in Cleveland and all, but ... well, he worries. add in the fact that, after spending what felt like years in Sylar's head, he's a little attached and a little unsure of what to do with himself without Sylar around, and that probably explains why, despite Buffy's reassurances, he shows up in the city about a week later]

[perhaps thankfully for him, considering he doesn't have Claire's power at the moment, he arrives during the day and finds the house easily enough, and now he's standing on Slayer Central's doorstep, waiting for someone to come answer the door after having knocked. he's not sure how well his appearance will be received by Buffy and her friends, but ... at least he can take comfort in the fact that Sylar will be happy to see him. and maybe talk Buffy into letting him hang around, assuming she's against him being here]

... okay. [he feels like there's something he's missing, and he glances at Sylar, hoping for an explanation. Sylar just pops his eyebrows in a shrug, though. if he explains, it'll be later, when Dean can't walk in on them] Right.

[a moment of silence follows and then] If we're going out tonight, you might want to skip the coffee. [you, too, Buffy. getting hopped up on caffeine and staying up all day as a result would probably be a bad idea]

[She makes a face, because she knows he's right. She stares at the cup longingly for a moment, before pushing up to her feet.]

I'll put it in the fridge for later. Do you want to introduce him to Cordelia, or should I?

[heroslayer]

[Sylar mutters an apology into his own coffee -- yeah, he's going to continue to drink it, because pfft, who needs sleep? -- and then considers that for a moment, shrugging] Up to you.

[kiss_evilgoodbye]

[She exhales slowly, before rubbing her eyes.]

You talk to Cordelia. I'm going back to sleep.

[heroslayer]

[he hums, accepting, but says nothing beyond that]

[Peter, on the other hand, offers her a smile that's both warm and apologetic, the latter for waking her up in the first place. and for cancelling the coffee] It was nice meeting you.

[kiss_evilgoodbye]

[Buffy nods with a smile, reaching forward to shake his hand.]

Nice meeting you too. Feel free to make yourself at home.

Thanks. [Peter takes a moment to shake her hand] And, uh, sleep well? [and there's a sheepish little look at the idea of waking her up in the first place, again]

[She nods.]

Will do.

[And with that, she disappears. But if the boys want to track down Cordelia, she is around.]

[and once she's gone, Sylar stands there for a long moment, just studying Peter quietly. then, finally, he pushes away from the counter to set his cup in the sink and head for the door] Let's go find Cordelia. [he'd like to talk to Peter, but -- but the sooner they get the introductions over, the sooner they can talk without being interrupted, he feels]

[Peter may or may not get that, but either way, he shrugs, and moves to follow him] Okay.

[Cordelia, unlike Buffy, was up with the sun. It was not by choice. But she's already scrambled a squad of Slayers to take care of the vision in question - not because they have any power but because they didn't have the energy to question her - and she's feeling productive.

She looks up when she hears the sound of feet and smiles at the new face she doesn't know.]

Morning. What's going on?

[heroslayer]

Nothing big. [before she starts thinking they have another crisis on their hands] I wanted to introduce you to a friend. [he pauses, turning back to Peter, to gesture to him] Cordelia, Peter. Peter, Cordelia.

[and Peter flips a little wave] Uh, hey.

Hi. Welcome to the Hellmouth.

[It's not a very welcoming place, but she tries.]

[he lets out a little breath of a laugh, because well, even if this place turns out to be legit, that's kind of ridiculous term. also not terribly welcoming, no matter how hard Cordelia tries, sorry Cordelia] Yeah, thanks.

[and Sylar glances at him, briefly, then back to Cordelia] Buffy's taking him out tonight.

[Her eyebrows climb a bit at that, and she grins.]

Should I be making popcorn, or did you have something else in mind?

[heroslayer]

For Dean, maybe. If you don't mind.

[he also needs to make sure Peter picks up his healing before they go out, just in case]

[letsbe_clear]

[Her eyebrows go up.]

You need me to hunter babysit?

[heroslayer]

[Sylar hums] Something like that. Buffy's not sure Dean wouldn't take what we can do the wrong way.

[letsbe_clear]

[She makes a face.]

Yeah, she's not wrong about that. I'll distract him on the other side of town. Should give you guys plenty of breathing room.

[heroslayer]

Thanks.

[and after a moment of looking between them, Peter finally speaks up] Is he really that bad? [he gets that people can have issues with what they don't understand, God, does he get it, but he's also the type to give people the benefit of the doubt, and ... yeah]

[Cordelia sighs.]

He's got a history with people with powers. It's not a good one. It's just one of those things that it's better to ease him into.

[hadtobeahero]

[and Peter echoes the sigh. he can't really blame this Dean guy for his issues, but -- but it's still a little frustrating] Right.

[Sylar, in the meanwhile, is silent for a moment, and then, as sort of an aside, to Peter] Speaking of. You might want to pick up Claire's power from me, before we go.

Yeah. [he probably will, even if he's not entirely sure how intense this is actually going to be. he's also not particularly interested in that, his attentions focused on Cordelia again, now] But you're cool with it? [the whole powers thing. he figures they wouldn't be having this conversation if she wasn't -- or if she wasn't aware of what he and Sylar could do -- but]

[She gives a half shrug.]

I get head splitting visions of the future from the Powers that Be on a regular basis. I kind of have to be okay with it.

[hadtobeahero]

[Peter offers her a smile that's equal parts relieved and sympathetic] Yeah, that'd kinda do it. [a beat] And I know how much that sucks. [not that his visions were ever painful, but that doesn't make them any more fun]

[letsbe_clear]

[Cordelia's eyebrows go up a bit in surprise.]

Well, hey. Always good to have some vision experience around.

[Peter shrugs a little] Yeah, my mom kind of ... [and as it occurs to him that she probably doesn't care much about his mother and her visions and how he ended up with them, he trails off]
