[Naturally, Buffy calling to tell her that Dean made it to Cleveland is an invitation. One, because this is Buffy and when is a conversation with her not an invitation to troll her life, and two, she needed to keep an eye on her champion. She couldn't really do that from a diner in the middle of nowhere, now could she?

So this is Cordelia, bouncing up the stairs to the house that Buffy had left her with, and knocking on the door. It's the middle of the day. Someone should probably be home.]

I'll call Cordelia. She can track it down.

[She pulls out her phone to make a quick phone call, which eventually leads to a small, slight amount of bickering. This is Cordelia.]

[well, at least he's not the only person who argues with the crazy lady. regardless of how comforting that thought may or may not be, though, he frowns for a moment, before:] She got the goods or what?

She's using her PI skills to dig into it.

[she tips the phone away from her mouth while she waits.]

[not that he particularly cares, but keeping the snarky commentary running is better than standing around with his thumb up his ass]

She's been off the grid for about five years, but she still knows her way around the DMV servers.

Are you ever going to let her tell her side of the story?

Depends on whether or not she stops bein' a creepy drama queen. [or if he gets over trying to blame her for getting him wrapped up in all this crap again[

That depends on your definition of creepy. But "drama queen" is sort of Cordelia's default setting.

Drama queen, maybe I can live with -- maybe -- but I'm talkin' creepy like -- like "Anakin, you are the chosen one" style.

[She laughs.]

She's just ... dedicated to her job. She's got a purpose. Without it, everything else seems kind of lame.

Have you told her this? You know, in a calm, reasonable, not-biting-her-head-off sort of way?

... kinda? [if it wasn't obvious that he was lying just by the way he sounds, the fact that Sylar shifts uncomfortably is probably a dead giveaway]

[She glances to Sylar before smirking slightly.]

Cordy's going to be sticking around for a while. So discuss this with her like an adult, and I'm sure she'll ease up. Otherwise? I stick you back in the house with the rest of the Slayers.

[and he will never sleep again.]

[he really has no idea that Sylar is a human lie detector, but he's going to shoot him a dirty look anyway. Sylar, on the other hand, just looks fairly amused]

Goo -- yeah?

[Cordelia comes back on the other end of the line and Buffy nods.]

Yep! I know exactly where that is. Thanks, Cordy.

[and with that she hangs up.]
