Free for all for superhero based fandom smashing. Make a top level with your hero of choice and someone else will smash into it. I figured this would be easy and fun to do until we figure out actual plot and then we can do that.

[That is ... graceful. Laurel is a little stunned by the grace of it, but it doesn't take her long to follow after diving to to the side and getting ready to go to town with her baton.]

[ yeah thea is going to be well behind the rest of them because she's too busy drooling. i mean what? no it's totally because she is not the queen of parkour and has to get down there safely without breaking every bone in her body. which means some of the thugs have sprung into action by the time she's dropped down.

she gets right to work, heading for the largest clump with her katana and going to fucking town with the flat of the blade because she gets judged enough by ollie she doesn't need to be judged by other people too.

WEEEEE FIGHT MONTAGE. ]

[he's been training for this long before he ever put on the Robin costume for the first time, born into the circus, into a family of acrobats. it's second nature, like breathing, and he uses it to his advantage, as they've seen, as they might continue to see, if they watch him at all during said fight montage. it's almost a dance, for him]

[it's also what lets him move fast enough to put himself between Oswald and a door that presumably leads out back, once they've lost the element of surprise and he recovers enough to think to get the hell out of Dodge. Dick just practically appears between him and the door, smiling practically amicably]

Hi, Oswald!

[Once Laurel's pack of thugs is on the ground she's going to head over and back up Dick, moving into place behind the fleeing Penguin and letting her arms rest against her side, ready to spring into action at a moment's notice if need be.]

I think that sounds about right.

[ thea casually hits the last thug with the butt of her sword and idly watches him slump to the floor before she starts tying them up with hand zipties. she doesn't want this to turn into an ambush once they think they're golden and she knows laurel can handle herself and probably nightwing, too. ]

[wingdinging]

[Oswald looks between the three of them, then holds up his hands] I can promise you this isn't what it looks like.

Oh, yeah? [Dick tilts his head to one side] What is it, then?

[and Oswald doesn't answer, just looks over his shoulder again, back at Laurel. clearly, this is exactly what it looks like and he's trying to find a way out before Dick or one of his friends can drag him back to Gotham]

Yeah, I think this is exactly what this looks like.

[She glances over to Thea with a small smirk.]

What do you think, Speedy?

[ thea's head pops up from her work. ]

Shady as fuck.

[wingdinging]

You heard the ladies, Oswald.

[he shrugs, then, all at once, he's practically on top of him, a pair of carbon fiber handcuffs having appeared, like the zip line he came down on, in his hands. he snaps them onto Oswald and, that done, glances between Laurel and Thea] If my intel's right, he's probably got a stash of military grade weapons around here, somewhere.

Oooh a scavenger hunt. My favorite.

[And she's going to wander off to start a standard law enforcement grid search, just like her father used to do on her and Sara's rooms when she started hanging out with Oliver Queen and Tommy Merlyn.

She's pretty sure his father was convinced they were being brainwashed.]

That's because you didn't have my dad hiding the Easter eggs, [ she says with a grumble. ] Walking up all fifty stories of Queen Consolidated to get the eggs in the stairwell. Bullshit.

[ but she's looking around too. "looking around" aka texting curtis to have his search this place out via a couple little tech devices that thea let's fly around the building. ]

Ooh, and I thought my Easters were bad.

[they weren't, not really. they might have been, if Bruce had been the one hiding the eggs, because he would have been a dick and put them all over Gotham and used it as a training exercise, but thankfully, Alfred was having none of that. he recognized that Dick was, despite being Robin, too, just a boy and holy shit, Bruce, sometimes your parenting skills suck]

[She smirks a bit at that.]

Are you kidding? My dad used Easter to encourage deductive reasoning.

Fifty flights of stairs! [ but it's not like thea sounds upset by it, if anything she sounds a little wistful. if robert wanted to hide eggs up a thousand flights of stairs now she would be perfectly fine with it because she would have her dad back. ]

[wingdinging]

[and Oswald pipes up, now] Oh, mummy and daddy didn't love me enough to give me a real Easter. No one cares, love.

[Dick glances over at him, frowning] ... anyone got a gag?

I could scream again, see if that shuts him up.

[Would you like a broken ear drum, Oswald? Because she could arrange that.]

NONE OF YALL CAN JUDGE ME

Wait, allow me. [ thea punches him in the throat. :) ] All better.

[wingdinging]

[Oswald chokes; Dick watches him for a moment before shrugging] ... yeah, that works.

[a beat]

So, uh. Who's taking him? [and another] Have we figured that out, yet? [because Oswald's on their turf but he's part of his rogues gallery, and while he knows that, no matter where he ends up, Oswald will probably buy his way out in fairly short order, Dick's not sure Bruce will be thrilled, if he leaves him here. but it's not like it'll be the first time he's pissed Bruce off. but ... ]

[Laurel takes a deep breath before considering a moment, her eyes looking over the scene.]

Let's drop him off at SCPD. Gotham and Star City can duke it out for jurisdiction later. Or maybe we'll just try him both places and he can rot for a very, very long time in Iron Heights.

[wingdinging]

[Dick thinks about that for all of a hot minute, then shrugs widely]

Works for me.

[if Bruce really wants Oswald that bad, he can get Gordon to use his pull to get him tried in Gotham. either way, he did his job and Oswald and his guns are off the street]

Is that how the law actually works? Did double jeopardy lie to me?

[ she doesn't look fussed, sauntering over to motherfucking nightwing. ]

So. Pizza?

Double jeopardy means you can't be tried for the same individual crime. But if you commit the same crime in two different places, double jeopardy doesn't apply.

[Lawyer Laurel strikes again. She'll go call it in to her dad while you guys work out the pizza details. She doesn't really care so long as mushroom and olive is an option.]

[wingdinging]

[Dick jerks a thumb in Laurel's direction] What she said. [and he's not just agreeing for the sake of agreeing -- he actually knows this shit, to a certain degree, too. Laurel's a lawyer by day; he's a cop in Blüdhaven]

[either way, though, he shrugs] But yeah. Pizza.

Laurel is a freak of nature and she will want half olive and mushroom and you don't need to pretend that is not the most disgusting thing in the world, don't worry. [ turned away from oswald, thea pushes her mask up into her hair, leaving just a pretty young woman with dark, smudgy make up around her eyes like a raccoon instead of a slightly-too-violent vigilante. ] What's your poison? I can order, like, three.
