[Naturally, Buffy calling to tell her that Dean made it to Cleveland is an invitation. One, because this is Buffy and when is a conversation with her not an invitation to troll her life, and two, she needed to keep an eye on her champion. She couldn't really do that from a diner in the middle of nowhere, now could she?

So this is Cordelia, bouncing up the stairs to the house that Buffy had left her with, and knocking on the door. It's the middle of the day. Someone should probably be home.]

[he stands in her doorway for a moment when he finds her, a frown on his lips, and then] You know ... there are easier ways of getting out of here than jumping out the window.

[She glances back at him with a bit of a sheepish look.]

Maybe. but it is the least noticeable.

[she then sighs and glances towards the door.]

What does she want?

[heroslayer]

Can't argue that. [a beat] She says she had a vision about a demon coming our way.

[kiss_evilgoodbye]

[ ... Oh. If it's a vision ... ]

Guess we've got some work to do.

[heroslayer]

[ ... that ... was not the reaction he was expecting, and he arches an eyebrow] I take it that's not why you thought she was here?

No one can truly predict the whims of Cordelia. She could just be here because she's bored with being stuck by herself and wants to be part of a group again. I'm not saying I wouldn't take her in every time, but ... she's someone who's better handled in much smaller doses.

[heroslayer]

[he hums and tries his best not to look too amused] I got that impression. [he pauses again, long enough to sober] But yeah. We've got work to do.

[She nods.]

This could be fun, working with Cordelia again.

[heroslayer]

Or we might be up here again in a few days, when you've had enough and she and the new guy are at each other's throats. I might start taking bets.

I'd put my money on Cordelia, to be honest. I like Dean, but no one takes her on and survives.

[heroslayer]

Guess we'll find out. [he pauses, steps out of the doorway and nods towards the stairs, his expression sobering] Come on.

[she nods, and turns to follow him back down the stairs.]

[to his credit, he has neither killed Cordelia or started humming the Jeopardy theme. he deserves a medal. he also looks vaguely relieved somehow when Sylar comes back with Buffy]

Hey. So. Cordelia had a vision.

[she smiles over in Cordelia's direction.]

Welcome to Cleveland.

[Cordelia smirks back.]

Yeah, we got that much. [a beat] So, uh ...

[does that mean she'll be hanging around for awhile? because man, he's still holding out hope she'll deliver her little message and then go the hell away]

Right! The demon.

[yes, Cordelia definitely missed the point of that "uh ... "]

It was this horny, slimy mess from what I could see. He had a shield with this weird kind of leaf symbol.

[Buffy has already moved passed her and placed the pad of paper from by the phone in her hands.]

Here. Draw.

[verymature]

[and as much as he doesn't like Cordelia at the moment, Dean can't help but snicker at the the use of the word 'horny.' yeah, he gets that she didn't mean it like that, but -- but Sylar is giving him a look now]

[he clears his throat, forcing himself to sober, and] Sounds like, uh, well, not much like the demons I'm used to dealin' with.

[She glances up briefly as she starts to draw, before nodding.]

I know. You're more used to the black eyed possess-y types. Bright side to these guys -- you can kill them without innocent human collateral damage.

[she's totally not judging. This is really supposed to be a bright side.]

[he looks mock thoughtful for a moment and then shrugs. he's totally taking it as a bright side] Sounds good to me. [a beat] Though I'm guessin' holy water and a little Latin ain't gonna do it in this case, either.

Nope. You guys get to do this the fun and messy way.

Not really sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing, but I've probably done worse.

I've got plenty of nice sharp pointy things. Provided it's the sharp and pointy kind of demon.

[she looks over the sketch for a moment, before frowning.]

This looks like a chaos demon.

[please excuse the guy who has no concept of how Buffy's world works a lot of the time]
