Free for all for superhero based fandom smashing. Make a top level with your hero of choice and someone else will smash into it. I figured this would be easy and fun to do until we figure out actual plot and then we can do that.

[She laughs before turning back to Oliver.]

Have Overwatch track me and Speedy can meet us there.

[Oliver grumbles but nods, before turning to Diggle and heading out. Once they're gone, she turns back to Nightwing with a small smile.]

Sorry about him. He doesn't know how to play well with others.

[wingdinging]

[Dick watches them go, and when they're gone, he turns back to Laurel with a shrug]

It's an alpha male thing. Trust me, I definitely get it. [a beat] Not that you'll have to worry about that from me. [because he's not Bruce] I'm more the Strong Female Character type.

[ ... and that. he and Clint Barton would get along way too well]

[She laughs at that, before shaking her head.]

C'mon. Let's go find the Penguin.

[wingdinging]

[he grins dazzlingly, honestly, pleased that she wasn't offended by that. when it dims, he makes a showman's gesture in a random direction]

[And with that they will bounce their way over the rooftops, heading to the rendezvous where they will find an archer in red leather with a katana on her back waiting for them.]

Hey, Speedy.

[ she might... be on her phone. LOOK, she loves her clint barton bird's eye view, but my god can it get boring without anyone to beat up. ]

It'll only take a second, Speedy, I'll be speedy, Speedy. [ she makes a face at laurel, but even with a mask it's clear she's just fucking with the older woman. ] I ordered a pizza. You seriously need to work on your definition of speedy.

[ a beat. ] We know another vigilante and no one told me? Is there seriously a memo that I am not getting?

[wingdinging]

You should try paying for the pizza in costume. The reactions you get are priceless. [he totally did that once. it was awesome] But uh, no, I'm from the visiting team.

[and he flips a wave]

Nightwing, hi.

We just met.

[To address the lack of a memo that Thea received.]

Apparently Star City has a Penguin problem, and Oliver loaned us to Team Batman for the evening to help get rid of him.

Since when are penguins a problem? [ penguins tho. ] Wait, what is this about Batman?

[wingdinging]

Think less penguin -- [he makes a hand gesture to indicate the approximate size of a literal penguin] -- and more Penguin. [and then another, to indicate Oswald's height, and another, miming his monocle and the cigars he's so fond of]

[a pause follows when he drops his hands again] Yeah, I'm one of Batman's friends.

[prosecutorial]

Yeah. This is Penguin with a capital "P."

[Which may be a little much compared to what they're used to, but she's fairly certain they can handle it.]

Yeesh. Cisco was right, bad guys should definitely never name themselves. [ she looks appropriately unimpressed for that dumb name. ] Nightwing on the other hand. [ she points her bow at him. ] Frickin' lit.

[wingdinging]

[he's pretty sure Oswald didn't name himself, per se -- that was more a rude nickname that someone started using, at some point, and it kind of stuck. he's not going to correct her, however, because he's totally on board with taking a shit on Oswald. and with her complimenting him on his codename]

[he grins easily, that latter part in mind] Hey, thanks. [a beat] And, uh, speaking of ... [he nods to her. someone explain to him how she got to be Speedy plz]

[Laurel is going to let Thea take that one, as she turns to scan the area and see if there are any signs of trouble anywhere.]

[ thea rolls her eyes. ] Green Arrow is my brother. [ SPILLING EVERY BEAN. ] Speedy was his nickname for me when I was a kid and he picked my codename for me before I even had a chance.

[wingdinging]

[Dick can't help but laugh. he holds up his hands placatingly immediately afterwards] Sorry, sorry. [a beat] Just imagining what codename I would have ended up with if I'd let Robin pick mine.

[Tim is not his brother, not by blood, but he might as well be. they're family, all of them]

[She smirked.]

Fortunately for me, I just stole my sister's code name. Guess this is a bit of a family affair.

[ thea scoffs. ] Canary's better than Speedy.

[wingdinging]

It could be worse?

[at least she's not the Penguin]

Anyway - don't we have a supervillain to stop? We're all dressed up, might as well get to it.

[withasouvenir]

Right, yeah. [ she was either just distracted by new friend or new friend's, um, chestal region (because hello), but she rips her attention away from nightwing to settle on laurel. ]

I'm gonna need some directions. Maybe GPS. Only place I know to find penguins is at the zoo.

[wingdinging]

[he does, in fact, have a very nice chest. also a nice ass, which Thea may notice here before too long, but] Yeah, okay.

[a beat]

You're probably not too far off, actually. He's kind of got a thing for Natural History Museums. [which isn't too far off from a zoo, except the animals are usually dead and mounted] Otherwise, he's doing the cliche bad guy thing and hanging out by the docks. [Dick isn't entirely sure which way Oswald is swinging on this one (or if this city even has a Natural History Museum), however, as he didn't get much of a chance to do recon before Laurel started following him. he can always phone a friend, if they don't have any ideas]

[Laurel nods once before glancing to Thea.]

We could call Overwatch. See if she can check the security cameras for anything weird?

If she can't find him, Dad probably can.

[ lmao probably because they're hanging out. she shrugs at laurel, letting her take the felicity angle, while she sets off to lead them toward the docks, because it's probably the docks. it's always the docks. ]

So this stupidly named Penguin. You think he might be friends with the League of Assassins? Asking for a friend.

[wingdinging]

[Dick follows and -- and while his voice remains steady, something in his stance, in the way he moves tightens at the mention of the League. clearly, he's familiar and he's not a fan]

What, you mean like, with Ra's? [a beat] Yeah, no, I really don't think they'd get along too well. [how the fuck do you know about the League]
