Free for all for superhero based fandom smashing. Make a top level with your hero of choice and someone else will smash into it. I figured this would be easy and fun to do until we figure out actual plot and then we can do that.

[he shrugs, pauses a beat, and then points in Oliver's direction] I'm gonna go out on a limb, here, and guess that that's your Arrow friend? [it really wouldn't take a rocket scientist, but he can't help but be flippant in his asking]

[prosecutorial]

[And Oliver will intrude because :||||||| Laurel, why don't you listen to him?]

I told you to wait for back up.

[Laurel gives him a thin look.]

I had back up. You're the one who was late.

[wingdinging]

Hi, backup here. [he waves] Nice to meet you?

[prosecutorial]

[Oliver scowls. That's his "nice to meet you" face for most people.]

What are you doing in my city? We tend not to like unannounced vigilantes.

[Laurel will just be over here facepalming.]

[wingdinging]

Wow, okay.

[could you be any more Bruce, Oliver? just -- seriously, man. it's so bad that he's tempted to dodge answering, just to be a, well, dick. (is there a secret handshake I missed? a vigilante tax that I was supposed to pay first, maybe?) he thinks better of it for whatever reason, thankfully, but that doesn't stop him from shaking his head before he does answer]

I'm guessing you know about the guy who dresses like a bat, running around Gotham?

[prosecutorial]

[Oliver linefaces some more, so yes. He has. Laurel just raises her eyebrows.]

See? You aren't the only one with a team.

[Oliver then turns that glare on her, before shaking his head.]

Why are you here?

[wingdinging]

[Dick shrugs]

You've got a Penguin problem. [a beat] As in The, Capital P. [Oswald. Bruce always sends him after Oswald. he still hasn't figured out why. it's not like the guy's any less dangerous than the rest of the rogue's gallery. maybe it's because he's one of the few, along with, say, Roman Sionis, who actually bother to operate outside of Gotham? who knows]

The Batman asked me to come see what he was up to and take care of it, if I needed to.

[prosecutorial]

Thanks for the heads up. We'll take care of it from here.

[And Laurel facepalms.]

So it's okay when the Flash shows up out of nowhere to help us out, but we can't accept help from other masks now?

[And Oliver is just going to glare.]

[wingdinging]

[and on the heels of Laurel:]

Yeah, I don't think you really understand how my boss works. [he pauses] I'm mean, sure, I'd love to go back to my hotel room and order a pizza and see what B-movie HBO's showing tonight, but I'm pretty sure when I got home I'd probably get thrown off the top of Wayne Tower or something.

[no, Bruce wouldn't really do that. he'd just lineface at him. and never trust him with anything again. and they already have issues, without him not actually doing his job]

[prosecutorial]

Well, maybe you should tell your boss this isn't his city.

[Laurel sighs heavily. Why is Oliver her friend?]

Why don't I go work with him, sort out the Penguin situation and get him out of your hair faster if you really don't want him here?

[Compromise, right?]

[wingdinging]

No, but it is his bad guy. [a beat] Though, I'm just gonna go ahead and say one vote for her plan. [rather than keep running his mouth, because that's working just as well for him as it would with Bruce]

[prosecutorial]

[Oliver gives her a look and she can hear the Laurel, in it's exact tone, without him having to say it, but she doesn't back down and eventually he caves with a heavy sigh.]

Fine. Sort it out.

[After a beat.]

Bring Speedy with you.

[Laurel nods in agreement, because that is a team up she can live with.]

Fine. I'll fill her in when we get back to base.

[wingdinging]

[and Dick glances between Laurel, Oliver and back again]

Sorry -- Speedy?

[he assumes that she's another vigilante, but. yeah, he has no idea who that is, beyond that, thanks]

I'll introduce you. She's not here now.

[She was taking care of something else on the other side of town.]

[wingdinging]

Yeah, I got that. [a beat] I was kinda hoping that wasn't her actual codename, though. [and another] I mean, I thought I had some bad ideas, when I was trying to come up with mine ...

[prosecutorial]

[She laughs.]

She didn't choose it. It was chosen for her, unfortunately.

[wingdinging]

[Dick lets out an over-dramatic sigh of relief]

That makes me feel so much better.

[seriously]

[She laughs before turning back to Oliver.]

Have Overwatch track me and Speedy can meet us there.

[Oliver grumbles but nods, before turning to Diggle and heading out. Once they're gone, she turns back to Nightwing with a small smile.]

Sorry about him. He doesn't know how to play well with others.

[wingdinging]

[Dick watches them go, and when they're gone, he turns back to Laurel with a shrug]

It's an alpha male thing. Trust me, I definitely get it. [a beat] Not that you'll have to worry about that from me. [because he's not Bruce] I'm more the Strong Female Character type.

[ ... and that. he and Clint Barton would get along way too well]

[prosecutorial]

[She laughs at that, before shaking her head.]

C'mon. Let's go find the Penguin.

[wingdinging]

[he grins dazzlingly, honestly, pleased that she wasn't offended by that. when it dims, he makes a showman's gesture in a random direction]

[And with that they will bounce their way over the rooftops, heading to the rendezvous where they will find an archer in red leather with a katana on her back waiting for them.]

[ she might... be on her phone. LOOK, she loves her clint barton bird's eye view, but my god can it get boring without anyone to beat up. ]

It'll only take a second, Speedy, I'll be speedy, Speedy. [ she makes a face at laurel, but even with a mask it's clear she's just fucking with the older woman. ] I ordered a pizza. You seriously need to work on your definition of speedy.

[ a beat. ] We know another vigilante and no one told me? Is there seriously a memo that I am not getting?

[wingdinging]

You should try paying for the pizza in costume. The reactions you get are priceless. [he totally did that once. it was awesome] But uh, no, I'm from the visiting team.

[and he flips a wave]

[To address the lack of a memo that Thea received.]

Apparently Star City has a Penguin problem, and Oliver loaned us to Team Batman for the evening to help get rid of him.
